Student Pilot Limitations after solo


What you can do under the supervision of your flight instructor:

q       You can rent and solo the make and model aircraft as endorsed by your instructor

q       You Can rent that aircraft and practice your maneuvers within 25 NM of Morris airport

q       You can fly in the practice area with a minimum ceiling of 3000 ft. and minimum visibility of 10 miles

q       You can fly in the pattern with a minimum ceiling of 2000 ft. and a minimum visibility of 5 miles

 

What you can not do:

q       You can not land at any other airport other than Morris without a specific signoff FOR THAT AIRPORT

q       You can not take passengers

q        You can not transport property for compensation or in furtherance of business

q       You can not fly at night

q       You can not fly into Class B airspace

q       You can not fly over the nuclear plants or over any open air assembly of people, including the Joliet Speedway during a race

 

When Flying Solo You Must:

 

q       Have your Medical Certificate, which is also your Student Pilot Certificate

q       Have a photo I.D.

q       Have your logbook, with CURRENT solo sign off’s with you (your solo endorsements must be updated every 90 days)

q       Have a current Sectional Chart with you

q       Receive permission from an instructor from the flight club. Someone should be available during your flight

 

Items to Consider Prior to Solo Flight:

 

q       The conditions are VFR and will stay VFR during your entire flight time.

q       The winds are within the aircrafts and your limitations and will stay this way for the entire flight.

q       The aircraft has sufficient fuel for the flight plus a reserve of one hour.

q       The windscreen is clean and clear.  If you can’t see out, you won’t see other traffic.

q       Do a thorough pre-flight. Check for A.R.R.O.W.
