Member news!!
Blue Sky Aero reflects on
a great year! We hosted trips to Rantoul, twice
to Pilot Pete’s at Schaumburg, once down the lakeshore.
We
said goodbye to Charlie Hager who moved on to fly charter in
IA, mechanics Jack Petit and Bryan Drow, and to Dan Walker, his
fiancée, Heather Boatman, and daughter, Kaylee.
We
welcomed Alan Shackleton as IA and joint principal owner in Blue Sky, CFI’s
Nick Hantel, Dianna Ingram, John Weber, Joe and Mary Suligoy.
Kevin and Pat Brady joined Mike Halm in ownership of the Stearman. Some
fleet changes in 2005: N24153 left and was replaced by Ron Dippner’s C172
N66964. N7297Q’s 150 HP engine now has a RAM 160 HP conversion and the C152
will soon be back online with a new overhaul. Now online is a 200HP Arrow
with a Garmin 430 (just show me direct
and enter). The Stearman is getting some new fabric and hopefully soon
the Citabria will, too. We saw the first flights of Pete DeCraene RV-7A and Fred
Matuszewski’s
fiberglass GlaStar.
Charlie
and Matt Koldenhoven reduced the coyote population by one with the C152, Dianna
Ingram and Dave Scott coming in 4th and 2nd
respectively an IAC Aerobatic Competition in our Super Decathlon,
Private
Pilot Checkrides of Ronnie Mueller, Jedd Morris, Jim Koukalik, Gregg Myers,
Bill Nelson, Jr.
Our
outlook for 2006: a new Light Sport Plane in the fleet, more Blue Sky trips
(the Bahamas was mentioned as a point of interest, but I don’t think my
C170 would make that one), a movie night showing “Island In the Sky”, joint
activities with the local EAA Chapter, seminars, picnics and flying to find
food. Email me with ideas cindy@blueskyaero.com
Happy New Year!
